Marilynn has put much of her knowledge about teaching and learning mandolin in this section.  Her greatest teaching tools are the two method books she has written.  Her articles on mandolin history and technique and Brazilian choro music are all archived here, plus many now have downloadable PDFs of sheetmusic for you to enjoy.   Special to this website is an “Ask Marilynn” section where she answers questions from readers; you can make comments or email her a question yourself.  There’s also a series of “Of Note” posts with short newsy bits of info of interest.  Finally, to keep up with Marilynn’s activities you can sign up to receive her bi-monthly e-mail newsletters.

  • Bring a talented ensemble of gifted musicians together playing some of the great concertos and chamber music pieces of the 1700s, present the extraordinary classical mandolinist Marilynn Mair front and center, and you have a rare combination of the right musicians performing the right music at the right time.
